Lorne and Sons Funeral Home - Delray Beach Obituary

Kimberlee Ann “Kim” Wells, a Bright Light with a Fear of Bridges and a Heart Full of Love. It’s hard to capture someone like Kim in words — she was too full of life, laughter, and light for that. Kimberlee Ann Wells, known simply as Kim to everyone who loved her (which was pretty much everyone she ever met), passed away last Sunday in Florida. Born and raised in New Jersey, Kim spent most of her life there before her final chapter brought her closer to the sunshine she adored.

Kim had one of those smiles that could brighten even the dullest day. She had this rare gift of turning strangers into friends within minutes — usually with a laugh, a compliment, or a story that made you feel like you’d known her forever. Her energy was magnetic, her warmth contagious, and her kindness effortless. She loved the beach more than almost anything… except maybe her cat, Morris. The irony, of course, was her complete terror of crossing bridges — which made getting to the beach a bit of an adventure. But Kim being Kim, she’d face it anyway, probably with a mix of panic, laughter, and a determination to feel the sand beneath her feet.

Kim was vibrant in every sense of the word, a loving daughter, sister, and friend who lived with her whole heart. She is survived by her mother and stepfather, Kathleen and Brian Moriarty, and her brother Thomas, all of whom were endlessly proud of the woman she became. She was the kind of person who worked hard and took pride in everything she did. No matter where she worked, her employers adored her — not just because she was dependable and dedicated, but because she also brought joy into every workplace. Kim didn’t just show up; she shined. She also had a flair for style that matched her personality. Kim loved clothes and shopping, always impeccably dressed with her hair and makeup done perfectly. Even in casual moments, she carried herself with elegance and confidence that made everyone smile. And if you were lucky enough to be her friend, you knew what it meant to be truly cared for. She was loyal, funny, and fiercely protective of the people she loved.

A memorial gathering to celebrate Kim’s life will be held on Thursday, November 6, 2025 from 1PM to 2PM followed by a funeral service at 2PM at the Lorne and Sons Funeral Home, 745 NE 6th Ave, Delray Beach, FL 33483. Following the funeral service, family and friends are invited to a remembrance at the family home (details to be given at the funeral home) from 4PM until 6PM. There will be stories, laughter, maybe a few tears, and absolutely — in true Kim fashion — a lot of love.

Kim’s time here may have been shorter than anyone wished, but she filled those years with so much laughter, compassion, and sunshine that her light will never dim. She’s probably somewhere now — barefoot on the most beautiful beach imaginable — smiling that big, bright smile of hers, no bridge in sight, the waves crashing nearby, and peace all around her. Rest easy, Kim. You were loved beyond measure, and you’ll be missed beyond words.

Not sure what to say?

Kimberlee was such a lovely woman! I only spent a several times with her, but found her kind, gracious and with a sense of humor. She had such a great smile and welcoming attitude. Her passing is such an untimely loss. I am sure she is now smiling down upon us all.

I would like to send my condolences to her Mom Kathy, stepdad Brian and her brother Tommy and all her nieces and nephews. I was crushed when I got the news of Kim’s passing, we were friends for 40 years. I’m so sad and heartbroken. Rest in Peace Kim I’ll never forget the good times and long talks about everything and nothing and after work phone calls about how our day was. I’m gonna miss you. ❤

May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.
