BROWN (MITCHELL), Kimberly A. – Of Flint, MI, age 61, died peacefully on Saturday, October 22, 2022, with her family by her side.


Kimberly was born in Flint, Michigan on September 15, 1961, the daughter of the late Alvin and Audrey (Byers) Mitchell and was a resident of the Flint area and Grand Blanc all of her life.


She married Phillip "Mark" Brown on September 27, 1986 in Flint. She graduated from Grand Blanc High School in 1979 and The University of Michigan-Flint in 1984.


Kim enjoyed crafting and shopping. She was the ultimate planner of events and enjoyed every minute. She loved and was loved by everyone she touched.


Kim was a generous, giving, thoughtful, caring and competitive individual.


Kim was employed by the Swartz Funeral Home since 1992. Prior to that, she was employed by Merrill Lynch for 8 years.


Surviving are her husband, Mark;


brother, Thomas Mitchell of Davison;


former sister-in-law, Pamela Maynard of Jackson;


2 nieces, Alissa and husband Josh Sauder and Meredith Mitchell and Bryan Wales;


great-nieces and nephews, Nora, Penny, Lucy, Charlie and Theo Sauder, Audrey, Ruthie and Weston Wales;


aunt, Donna Heron of North Branch, MI and aunt, Mildred Mitchell of Holland, MI.


She was preceded in death by her father, Alvin Mitchell, in 1992; mother Audrey, in 2005; brother, Dr. Ronald Mitchell, in 1993.


A special thank you to all the relatives and friends for being there for Kim and Mark during their difficult year.


A Celebration of Kim’s life will be held Saturday, November 5, 2022 from 11 a.m. – 6 p.m. at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road.


In honor of Kim’s support of cancer research and prevention we encourage everyone to please wear something pink to her visitation.


In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to WCMU, The University of Michigan-Flint, Central Michigan University or Breast Cancer Research.

So sorry to hear this. Thoughts and prayers for friends and family

I worked with Kim at WFUM years ago, she was great fun to be with. Condolences to Mark and her family.

We were so sorry to hear of Kim’s passing. I have so many fond memories of our times together at WFUM. Whenever we came to Swartz, we asked for Kim and had a chance to reminisce over happy times. Our thoughts and prayers are with Mark and family.

In loving memory of a wonderful aunt. We will love you and miss you always.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Kim was such a wonderful person. Whenever I saw her, she always was smiling and happy. She will be missed.

I had the pleasure of working with Kim for 27 years in the legal realm. I admired her devotion to the many families she assisted over the years. She always did her very best and went the extra mile. Kim had a positive upbeat attitude regarding what life had in store for her. I enjoyed our many talks. She will truly be missed.

There are No Word's to express How very sorry i am about the Lost of My Dearest friend' Kim'. She was a Shinning Light Always'. All the Many Years we had together were very special' I will Miss her So Much' As a Great Friend and working partner' Love to ' Mark and My love to Kim'

From our days as high school friends to hard days at Swartz funeral home losing family members, Kim has always been a bright light. She has touched hearts within my family and I´m certain many more.
