I was so saddened to hear about Kim. I met her at the Animal Hospital and liked her the minute I met her. She had a special way with my animals and she was someone I would have liked to know better. She was such a special person and she will be missed very much. My sympathy to her family and friends.

I have known Kim for over 20 years. She just recently came back into my life in 2005 at the Animal Hospital of Statesville. It was an honor to know and love Kim. She was my humor every day. You never knew what she was going to say next. I continue to remember her daily, her crazy jokes, her talks about Jeff Gordon, Elivs, her love for good wine, how she loved the outerbanks, fishing and her wonderful sense of humor. I know she is in heaven getting things in order for all of her family and friends to join her one day. Outside of my own family I can't think of a more wonderful face to meet me when I get there. I will always miss & love her.

My husband and I met Kim 2 weeks before she died at the Animal Hospital. Our 11 month old dog Molly had to been seen and Kim met Molly for the first time. She made Molly feel more at ease and was one of the most personable people we have met. Thanks Kim for being so helpful. The community has suffered a great loss. Tim and Rhona Williams

Kim and I were friends all through school as well as neighbors. She was always so full of life. Kind, caring and thoughtful -- that was Kim. I would run into Kim and her co-workers at lunch from time to time and she was always the same. There are so many memories that I have of Kim. One that really stands out is the time she rode her horse over to our farm. I was at the barn doing chores and she kept after me to ride the horse. I finally got up enough nerve to get on it and then I couldn't keep it away from the feed room. Kim would lead it away and it would go right back. It was so funny! Oh --and she could pull jokes on you. She was one-of-a-kind. I'll never forget her. My thoughts and prayers are with the family now and in the days ahead. May God bless each of you.
Always,
Joyce

Dear Kim,
I’m writing this poem to let you know,
Just how sorry I am to see you go.
Your time here wasn’t that long,
And now we all feel we have been terribly wronged.
In times of trouble and need you were always there,
Now we expect our lives to be a little bare.
You were always a caregiver and a family defender,
For that I’ll always respect you and remember.
You would laugh, joke, and always kid,
Then one of us would remark,” Did you see what that crazy girl, did?”
Growing up you were kind of like a hero to me,
Cause for a girl you sure could play ball and climb a tree.
Even though I’m older and have a little boy,
I recall those times fondly and with great joy.
I wish those days playing under warm, blue skies would not have passed,
But I guess like most wonderful things they weren’t meant to last.
Now, much like those days of old, you have gone,
And I’m happy for you that you are finally home.
So, Kim you see…before you go
I just felt I had to let you know…..
That we are all so sad and feel a great loss,
Have fun in heaven, and I’ll miss you, Hoss.
Love- Jeff

Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this time. Kim was a jewel. She was my first empoyee at Lake Norman Animal Hopital way back in 1985. She was instrumental in helping us break ground and set up all the things necessary to set up , a then new, animal hospital. She was a jack of all trades and is loved by all (two and four footed). We will all miss her very much.

I worked with Kim at Davidson College - several years ago. Kim is the type of person that is so genuine that you never forget her once you've met. She was always, fun, caring and honest with her friends. Her compassionate nature was a perfect fit to work with animals. I hope the family finds comfort knowing what joy their daughter brought to so many, and how many will always remember her free spirit.

Ive known Kim since 1993 and in remembrance of her I find myself recalling a saying I read several years ago..
"Its not the years in your life
But the life in your years"
Kim McCoy loved and lived life to its fullest each and every day.
Kim possessed the perfect balance in life...work hard...play hard.
She was deeply devoted to work, family, and friends. She played with a fierce passion for ocean fishing, traveling, and camping and captured some of the most beautiful pictures on camera one has ever seen.
Kim's endless energy amazed me. She was tireless at everything she pursued.
With a great personality, big smile, and a joke, Kim never met a stranger. She acknowleged everyone. The recipe for a good time was "just add Kim" and get ready to laugh until you cried.
Kim was an intelligent lady, widely read in a variety of subjects. A good organizer, Kim could pack more into a single day of site seeing than most do in an entire week of vacation!
I can't begin to express the sorrow I feel for Rene in losing such a special partner as Kim McCoy . Just know how much Kim loved and adored you.
My heart goes out to the entire McCoy family in losing such a special daughter, sister, and aunt. I admired her sense of family and how she held you all so close to her heart.
Kim's many, many friends will miss her laugh, her smile, and her funny self so very, very much.
I will think of Kim every time I see the #24, eat boiled shrimp with Old Bay and melted butter, go camping, and TRY to fish at the coast.
I'll see your smiling face in every
campfire in the mountains and sunset at the Outer Banks.
I will miss you my friend.
Peace!
Robin

I don't know where to start.I have known Kim for over 25 years and I can't believe she is gone. Kim was a very special person to me in many ways. In ways we were alot alike. We both loved fishing, camping, jet skiing, taking pictures, sports, animals, our friends and our family. Over the past 25 years we have taken many trips together and had planned to take many more. Kim got Maggie from me years ago and she loved and spoiled her but thats what we as pet owners are suppose to do. Maggie passed away in 2005 and Kim has missed her so much but I know now that they are back together again. Let me tell you a little about my friend Kim. First of all she has a heart of gold. Kim was the type of friend that you just don't find everyday. I knew when we meet that we would become great friends and that our friendship would last forever. We had so many plan and things that we wanted to and it breaks my heart to know that she want be around anymore. Sometimes life can be so unfair. I wonder how many times in the future I will pick up the phone to call her just to see what she been up to. My heart is broken, I have lost one of the best people I have ever known and I will not let her be for gotten, she will always be in my heart and soul. Everytime from now on when I go fishing and catch that big one like Kim and I always tried to do, I will thank her for looking over me.Kim know just how much I am going to miss you along with all your other friends. I love you, I love you, I love you. Kim, rest in peace and I will see you someday. P.S. Tell Nikki (my dog that passed In 2003) that I love her and that you will be there for her until I can get there myself.

I only knew Kim from the Animal Hospital. We always had a good laugh because of our somewhat warped sense of humor. She will be so sorely missed. Someone earlier mentioned that they will be laughing in heaven. Her kindness and smile will always be there when it is our turn. I am truly sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with her family and co-workers.

I worked with Kim at the Animal Hospital of Cornelius for 5 years. Kim was always a day brightener for me. Her upbeat outlook and kind disposition eased rough spots in many days.
I have many good memories of the times Kim and I shared our mutual interests in yard plants, pets, Elvis, hummingbird feeding, etc.
I extend my heartfelt sympathy to Kim's family, Renee, and her many friends.
This world's loss is Heaven's gain.
You were much loved, Kim.

I worked with Kim at the Animal Hospital Of Cornelius. She always had a smile on her face. I remember her bringing Maggie into work with her everyday. They were the perfect pair. She was always pulling a prank on someone. She truly had the biggest heart of anyone I knew. If you were having a bad day at work, you just went to Kim and she made it better. We know Debbie will be a comfort to the family and friends who have a hole in their hearts because of Kim's passing! We met Kim when she and Debbie were in Vet School together in 1982 and she was such an up-beat and happy person that she made everyone else feel the same way! Words cannot express the thoughts and feeling that are reeling through my mind at this time. I met Kim about 14 years ago, along with her sweet 'Naa-Naa', and have since been on many little excursions together that will leave many precious memories in my heart and soul forever. This tragedy has left so many regrets that I feel I should have spent more time in her company, and many more happy times making even more memories to cherish. I will miss her terribly, and the hilarious 'doh' moments we shared together. Always there with a smile, and a unique way to make everything better, in even the most trying times-she was the light at the end of my dark tunnels. The last time I spoke with her, last Friday, her and I were planning a 'fishing' trip to Ocean Isle..my true fishing buddy, and confidant...she will be missed now, and for many years to come. I will never forget her, or her spontaneous free spirit. My heart goes out to her family, and I pray comfort and peace to everyone touched by this wonderful friend, especially 'Naa-Naa' who I send all the happy moments to forever be a comfort to her at this moment.
In deepest sympathy and condolences----Aim-I

I met Kim years ago through my partner, Todd, and she was always the 'whirlygig'...always had a smile and something to say that could make you laugh. She recently visited us a few months ago at our house at the beach, and we all had a wonderful time and she was plannning on coming again in just a couple of weeks, and it saddens me greatly that this has happened. She will be remembered in our hearts and our thoughts, as in those places, I still see her little smiley face. Our thoughts and prayers to all her family and friends.
