I remember SSG Voelz well. We were at COP Saint Michael; she was there to support the 3-505PIR. I remember as one of the best NCOs. We all come to respected her as she was very confidence, competent leader. We all come to like her and treat her like one of us, she was cool, could cussed like one of the boys, would dips sometimes on long missions. She was one of the first female we (Infantry) work alongside. Every Paratroopers on that small COP comes to respect her as a leader, every one of us...

To the family and friends of Staff Sgt. Kimberly A. Voelz. A photograph has been donated to the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston in her memory and in honor of retired Sgt 1st Class Max Voelz. The image by James Nakagawa will be part of an exhibition War/Photography that will open next November in Houston, then travel to New York and Los Angeles. May her memory be for a blessing.
