Resident of San Francisco
On November 6, 2019, Kirk Akahoshi, passed away at the age of 44 from pancreatic cancer. He was a devoted husband, beloved son and grandson, dear brother, doting uncle and friend to many.
Born on June 24,1975, and raised in Saratoga, Kirk was a graduate of Lynbrook High School. He received his Bachelor of Arts, Summa Cum Laude, from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, and a Masters degree in Counseling Psychology from The Institute of Transpersonal Psychology. Kirk lived a life of meaning and purpose, and maximized every moment, opportunity and personal connection. Along the way, he created deep, lasting friendships that spanned cultures, beliefs and time zones. His patience and understanding made him a trusted friend and confidante to many. He was genuine, authentic and unafraid to remain true to himself and his beliefs. He lived courageously and spiritually and sought to find the best out of every experience, good or bad. He will be missed.
Kirk is survived by his wife, Jaclyn Hull, parents Rev. Dr. Kenji and Karen Akahoshi, brother and sister-in law Garrett and Annie Grella Akahoshi, nephew, Cory and grandmother, Joyce Terao.

Kirk left us way too soon. I had the great pleasure of working with him during his time at ITP. The thing I remember most about him was that he was a giver. He was one of the few who asked. He had a kindness of spirit, a gentle soul. He left us too soon ...
