We miss you Kirk. Rest In Peace. Richard and Olivia James

I miss you lots, my friend. The cribbage games, the dancing, the holding hands. It gets lonely, but I will see you some say in Heaven. Judy

I am a loving student of Mr. Hoffman. He was a wonderful music teacher. I was with him for one lovely year. He was very lovely. He will always be a memory deep in my heart.

As a young professional drummer myself I met Kirk in 1985 through other players and he recommended me for gigs. I was able to return the favor some years later when I was booked on a date and needed a sub so I recommended him. This led to some other mutual sub \ fill in live gigs. He was always gracious and loved to talk shop. Since we both are drummers that also play horns we had a lot to talk about. We actually talked more about trumpet & clarinet than we did drums but it was always a joy...

My teacher, dear friend, mentor, and musical collaborator, Kirk was all of these. I first met him in the late 80s when I realized my weaknesses and limitations as a drummer, and went to him for help. He truly understood the physics, physiology and technique of drumming. He had terrific musical feel. Years later he collaborated with me on some musical projects. He brought all his energy and enthusiasm with him. I will truly miss his sense humor, enormous talent, and positive energy. God bless...

A good man; a major reason my son is a successful professional musician today. May all the good he brought to the world, all the light he engendered, all the laughter and healing he generated--may these be what is never forgotten.

Mr. Kirk Hoffman was an amazing person and drummer and I was blessed to be able to perform with him at the Proud Mary's blues club. He was a sweet, kind man. Performing with him was an amazing experience and he will be sorely missed.
