Dear Spencer family,
My heart goes out to all of you. Kirk was a great encouragement and a friend to me, and I remember the prayerfulness and thoughtfulness with which he approached each youth group event, plus his fun-lovingness. His energy and dedication were evident. I also loved the ice-skating parties on the rink in the backyard! I was very blessed by the hospitality and warmth of all members of your family.
I also know he was dedicated to his work, and since hearing of his...

Dear Spencer family, I just found out about the passing of Kirk and am deeply saddened by the news. I worked as his secretary for a few years at the University of Chicago. He was a wonderful man, had a great sense of humor, and was very compassionate. RIP Kirk

Dr. Spencer was not only the greatest doctor I ever had he was a wonderful human being. I can not express my gratitude enough. He will be missed and always in my thoughts.

Dr. Kirk Spencer was the best doctor I ever had. He not only got to the root cause of my health problem quickly, he also put me at ease with his friendly manner and his ability to tell me, in terms that I could understand, the nature of my heart problem and what I needed to do. He was always available for consultation if I had other health problems that could effect my heart regimen. I will miss you, Dr. Spencer.

Spencer family, my deepest condolences. Kirk was and still is very special to me. Most of my memories of Kirk include him serving and ministering to me as a junior high student at Homewood church. He always so joyful, he never failed to put a smile on my face with his goofy jokes, and he constantly encouraged me to grow in my walk with Christ. My favorite memory is when he taught me how to thank God for the simple things in life such as a rising sun or the air that we breathe. I will continue...

I offer my most heart felt prayers for the Spencer family at this time. I trained with Kirk at the University of Iowa in Cardiovascular Disease. He was a tremendous individual who touched the lives of everyone he met. He was an outstanding physician, scientist, and father. He will be greatly missed.

My heart felt condolences goes out to the during this difficult time. May the God who "binds up the brokenhearted" and "comforts all who mourn" sustain your family during this difficult time.
Isaiah 61:1,2

As we grieve the loss of such a wonderful soul, our family will forever have the best memories of Kirk. From the karaoke battle we had on guitar hero, to the fond memories my boys have of playing "Capture the Flag".
Anytime we gathered, he always made us laugh and imprinted his fun loving spirit into our hearts. Our family is forever blessed to have known him.
