I sincerely regret the loss of my friend and classmate, Kirkwood Balton. Kirkwood never changed--during our childhood, high school days, alumni gatherings--his eyes were always dancing and his smile was constant. Kirkwood was a good listener and a quiet mover and shaker. He will be missed by those near and far.

Juanita and Adrian, know that God's arms of comfort surround you.

Birmingham's Giants keep falling. Kirkwood was one of Birmingham's greatest giants. His warm spirit, kind heart, and wise intellect will be sorely missed. To the family, please know that it was a pleasure to have known and worked with Kirkwood. Thanks for sharing him with Birmingham and with us. We are proud to have known him and will cherish his memory always. He taught Birmingham how to give, how to live, and how to serve. Keep the Faith! And, as Rev. John T. Porter, one of Birmingham...

I just wanted to extend my deepest condolences to the Balton family on the passing Dr. Balton. I live in Washington DC and new his brothers (William,Charles,Mack) and Roy

Through words, we can only try to express our thoughts and feelings for one such as Dr. Balton. Time has brought a great life to an end as we have known him. May he always live on through each of us. I can remember our first encounter. He was truly a Godly man and most of all he was family and showed himself as family. I will always miss you.
