Gearty-Delmore Funeral Chapels - Plymouth Chapel Obituary

These three precious lives were tragically taken from us on December 1, 2019. Kjersten was a devoted mother, colleague and friend to many. Kjersten Marie Ellingson was born on Friday, June 13, 1980. KJ was a voracious reader as a youngster, often sneaking books into class to read during the...

Not sure what to say?

Sadden by the tragic loss. I met Kjersten through work at Tessitura. We shared a common place of origin, Minneapolis, MN and when I'd see her, she'd catch me up on the happenings from my home state. She was a very sharp and dedicated individual and was my trainer at one time. Always helpful, and always upbeat. She will definitely be missed by all whom had the opportunity to meet her.

Phillips Community member.
My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

Joyce, I am so sorry for this tragic loss of your daughter and grandsons. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Like many people, I met Kjersten through Tessitura. I can't tell you the first time I talked to her. But I can tell you I remember smiling the first time I met her. How could you not? Kjersten was light and energy and joy and happiness. I always looked forward to seeing her at database nerd summer camp, her giant smile spreading across her face. We'd share our hug and catch up, like the good Midwesterners we are. She also helped me through a personal issue I was having and was so willing to...

I'm sure most in the Tessitura community remember Kjersten's TN Inspire talk at TLCC about self-care. She accomplished just what those talks are intended to do- inspire. While we never worked directly with each other, we knew each other through the conferences and always shared a smile and quick conversation each year. She undoubtedly had this same small but meaningful positive impact on all who knew her in this same way.

It's important for those grieving to know that Kjersten's...

I didn't know Kjersten personally, but had heard her speak at several Tessitura conferences before and after she was hired there. I just wanted to let you know that this news was devastating to me, someone who barely knew her, had only been in the room with her a handful of times. I'm so sorry for the huge gaping hole this leaves in your heart. Everyone in the Tessitura Family is thinking of you.

Kjersten was a wonderful person; I can only imagine how great her boys were as well. Such a devastating and tragic loss. She will be missed by so many. My thoughts are with your family.

I had the privilege of Kjersten joining my team at the Science Museum of Minnesota beginning with her oversight of our box office and then taking a position in the IT Department. When she was in the IT department she took the point with incredible enthusiasm and commitment on our becoming one of the first museums in the world to join the international Tessitura Network, which at the time was principally a network of theatre and performing arts centers. We became the first organization in the...

I never met William or Nelson. But I knew them from Bruce's descriptions of adventures with the grandparents. The descriptions always started with "Joyce and I got to spend time with..." and not "we had to babysit...". Keep those precious descriptions in mind in this most difficult time.

Best thoughts and wishes.
