Konrad was an amazing individual. He was an intrepid seeker of truths beyond the horizon who joyfully shared his knowledge and passion. Hundreds of young people were challenged by Konrad's ideas through his teachings at U.S. Space Camp. For his life and his brilliant contributions to rocket science, we will be eternally grateful.

Konrad Dannenberg was truly an old world gentleman: courtly, well-spoken, gracious, and generous. Despite all of the hardships that he endured during his lifetime, his incredible energy and love of the U.S. space program never dimmed or waivered. Even at the ripe old age of 96 his recall, intelligence, wit, and occasionally wry sense of humor prevailed, unassailed by the ravages of time and aging. He was my friend and neighbor, and my father's (the late Mitchell R. Sharpe) friend long before...

Jackie, Please accept my condolences. While I never met you or Konrad face to face, we have conversed over the Internet from time to time in the past. My thoughts are with you!

I never met Konrad personally, but knew him from being friends with his wife, Jackie. I used to kid her by saying she had one of the "Ultimate Space Collectable's", Konrad himself. And even though I never met him, I felt like I knew him just a little bit through Jackie. She told me of all the things going on in their lives , the trips, the famous people they knew and all the space stuff I grew up watching when I was a kid. I considered them both part of my Internet Family. Rest in peace, Doc....

We did not know Konrad but please accept our Condolenses at this time of Sadness. I want to thank KONRAD for his contribution to the Space Industry. He came as a Scientist with our late Father, Herr Frederick Dhom from Germany who also resided in Huntsville. The German Brains of these many Fine Scientists brought so much to our Nation.
God Bless you....

Jackie,
Just wanted to say how sorry I am to hear about Konrad. I remember him since 1958 when we worked for ABMA and later, MSFC. Engines were our assignments and I was impressed with Konrad in meetings with his knowledge and leadership in solving problems. I was awed with Konrad in hearing him during tours in our Lab to high school students, inspiring our young future. We are all thankful to Jackie for her loving care of Konrad. God speed to Konrad.
