Kourtney Ray Butler

BUTLER, Kourtney Ray March 29, 1989- April 19, 2006 We called her Kor. She was in the process of changing her name to "Kourtney Raven Austin". That is the name she will be forever known by in our hearts. Kor was born in Chandler, AZ, in a hurry like she always was. She was a shining star from the first moment to the last. She skipped from person to person spreading her special spirit as she went. Everyone who knew Kor loved her, at least most of the time. She was always challenging things, wanted to be the first at everything She was first at a lot of things. She would have graduated this June, first in her class. She was going to go to ASU for a year, then to U of A to study genetics. She wanted to end up in Finland studying stem cell research. She wanted to save lives. In the end she did. Her organs have been donated, as she requested. There is not enough space here or anywhere to say all that Kor was. She is survived by her mother Suzi Austin and step-father Tim Lambert; sisters, Bre Butler and Sarah Lambert; her birth father, Allen Cartwright and adoptive father Mike Butler; grandmother, Carol Putman; aunts, Kathie Vaughan, Vickie (Patrick) Stacey, Janet (Mike) Bailey, and Brenda (Ronnie) Sanchez; uncles, Joe (Nikki) Putman, Joe Butler and Jon Butler; godmothers, Karen DeMann and Roberta Helton; and godfather, Dana Helton; numerous other family members and friends, all of Sun Valley High School and Sears-Fiesta Mall. A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, April 27, 2006 at Bueler Mortuary, 14 W. Hulet Dr. with visitation from 5-6 PM and service from 6-7 PM.
