Kristopher "Kris" Allen Benson, 46, passed away peacefully on Thursday July 25, 2024, at St. Tammany Parish Hospital in Covington, LA and was surrounded by his family and loved ones. He was a devoted husband, a proud father, a loving son, and loyal friend.
Born on April 11, 1978, in Metairie, LA, Kris was a man who lived life with passion. He was a proud resident of Slidell, LA, and graduated from Pope John Paul II High School and continued his education at the University of South Alabama. He worked as an environmental first responder, following his father's footsteps with United States Environmental Services. Kris's career led him to the marshes and swamps of Louisiana to the flat roads of Minnesota, where his tremendous heart, personality, and smile were bigger than life, and people naturally gravitated to him.
Kris was deeply loyal to his beloved wife, Brandi, and cherished every moment he spent with his daughter, Taylor. Their love was the cornerstone of his life, and he dedicated himself wholeheartedly to their happiness and well-being. His family and the New Orleans Saints were his two greatest passions. Kris was always game day ready, no matter the day or time, and his enthusiasm for the Saints was infectious.
Kris's laughter will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. He was a loving son to his parents, a fun-loving brother to his siblings, and an amazing uncle to his nieces and nephews, who will forever miss him. Those who crossed his path knew him to have a gentle soul, a child's heart, and a true warrior's will to fight.
He is survived by his wife, Brandi, his daughter Taylor, his father and mother Ben & Linda, his older sister Jennifer (Andy), younger brother Nicholas (Bridgette), younger sister Courtney (David), and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
May Kris rest in peace, and his memories continue to bring comfort to his loved ones. WHO DAT BABY!
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Visitation and Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 400 Westchester Place, Slidell, LA on Thursday, August 1, 2024.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until 12:30 P.M.

Ben and Linda, it has been many years since we have seen you and Kris. Great memories of Kris and football growing up. Your involvement with Elizabeth and cheerleading at PJP and the time you rolled our yard since kids were scared to do it.
We share your heart ache and know that Kris is with His Heavenly Father and his Lord and Savior. You were in our prayers at our Healing Service yesterday and will remain in our prayers.
