Read MoreI worked with Kurt in the Forest Service from 1967 through 1972. We became friends while we camped and worked surveying and laying out the future location of the Yocum Ridge Trail on Mt Hood. I treasured the opportunity to get to know him. In recent years it was always good to see him at the Government Camp historical talks. What an interesting good person he was.

I worked with Kurt in 1961 and 62 Govy with the Forest Service. 1962 was the year we fixed up Tline in preparation for Eleanor Roosevelt who was to come and rededicate the lodge. Unfortunately she died that year and never made it but Kurt was instrumental in leading the work. He was a good guy and friend for many years.
