Kurt Steven Matlock, 65, of Cedar Bluff, VA, formerly of Pen Argyl, PA, passed away at his home on Saturday, Feb. 2, 2019. He was married to the former Annetia Faren Roark.
Born in Bethlehem, PA, on Sept. 17, 1953, he was the son of the late Drew D. Matlock Jr., and Sharon Vosper Matlock of Elizabethtown, formerly of Pen Argyl.
Kurt was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Pen Argyl. He was a 1971 graduate of Pen Argyl High School and graduated from Bloomsburg University in 1975, with a bachelor of science degree in business administration. He also attended George Mason University.
He was employed by the General Accounting Office of the U.S. Government from 1975 until 1985. Most recently, he was employed at Tadano Mantis Corporation of Richlands, VA, as a material planner and production control supervisor. He retired in June 2018.
Surviving besides his wife and mother is a stepdaughter, Farrah Roark of Cedar Bluff.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by an infant sister, Brenda; his paternal grandparents, Drew D. Matlock Sr. and Olive Mutton Matlock, and his maternal grandparents, James G. and Lena Harding Vosper.
Memorial services will be Saturday, Feb. 9, at 1 p.m. at the Ruggiero Funeral Home, LLC, ruggierofuneralhome.com, 126 E. Pennsylvania Ave., Pen Argyl, with the Rev. Jean Huber officiating. There will be a visitation beginning at 11 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home. Interment will be private in Fairview Cemetery, Pen Argyl.
