Not sure what to say?

Dr. Rathjen was a FANTASTIC doctor!!! He did my hip replacement in 99 when I was only 45. I loved his bedside manner, something many Dr's lack. I was upset finding he had passed. I just found out this year 2025. He will be greatly missed. Trudie Baggett

Worked in Recovery and OR with Dr Rathjen. He so impressed me that I recommended him to my 80 y/o mom for bilateral total knees, which he did. For her remaining 15 years she always said "my knees are the only thing that don't hurt anymore" and for that I'm eternally grateful.

I loved Dr. Rathjen for his brilliance in orthopedics, his great bedside manner, and his abilities to pickup on small details of patient care. He did a hip transplant on me at age 49. Since I was at the young age of 49 for a hip transplant, I had alot of hessitance. I did get a second opinion and the 2nd dr did concur. My biggest worry was that Dr. Rathjen would be upset that I doubted his judgement I can't remember back that far but do hope and pray I told him that was not the issue. RIP...

I had moved away from Dallas and wasn't aware of Dr. Rathjen's passing. I was a patient of Dr. Rathjen's for many years. He was always kind and was a bright spot during my time there and those knee injections were no walk in a park, but he always seems to find a way to ease my nerves. I am deeply sorry for his family's loss, the clinic and his patients.

Dr. Rathjen was my Knight in Shining Armor and a total Prince, too. I was battling breast cancer when I met him. He was treating my painful knee. The first time I met him he threw my knee up on his shoulder and gave me an injection. He was caring and kind and a hoot to be around. He got me out of pain. He was so happy I stopped hurting. I miss him terribly . His smile and kind eyes always made my day.

Dr. Rathjen fixed our daughter's hip a few years ago. She couldn't really thank him because she was special needs with limited verbal ability. In 2019, she passed. As sure as I am typing this, there will be a day when after the resurrection of both Dr. Rathjen and our daughter Jessica, she is going to be raised perfectly, just as scripture says, and she will finally be able to thank Dr. Rathjen for what he did with his skilled hands. They both sleep in Christ and will be raised on that last...

Suzie and I will never forget your kindness and gentle nature and the way you worked on and replaced our knees and gave us new life. We never go down Washington that we don't think of you. You are missed by so many!

Dr. Rathjen, May God rest his soul, will always bring a fond memory and smile to us. Whether we pass the Tom Laundry building or the hospital off the Tollroad. I He called himself the knee carpenter. Gone but not forgotten. Dr. Rathjen. Thank you.

This is so late, but I have just this minute learned of Dr. Rathjen's untimley death. I have praised him since he gave me my life back through the bilateral knee replacement he gave me in 2008. I am grateful to him every day and mourn with all of you his family. I'm so sorry this is so late. Diane Dunn
