Having been his housemate, perhaps one of the very few, or only one to have shared his house as I recovered from a back fusion surgery, I am fortunate. On September 11 2001 morning , we watched it on TV as it happened, while I was still in a brace. I lhad covered and left to FL for a fresh start. Kurt and I have recently shared how we would never forget the morning of September 11, 2001 as we were together. I was recovering from my back fusion surgery and when I started occupying a room in Kurt's house by Furman University. Joy and Kurt have visited me at Duke's hospital and brought me a laptop that, with the help of Kurt, I had purchased on line. Kurt enjoyed the 'massive' Mediterranean salads that I had created. Kurt was quite instrumental in my life. I'm so happy that we were good friends. Quite a mentor! Just a wonderful and intelligent man. I among many will always remember him with warm thoughts. Much love to his family and I pray that God is helping you all as you go through this time.
