It's been six years since we heard the terrible news of your sudden passing. I still miss your afternoon show on WDIA especially on Mondays while I cooked meals for the week. I'll never forget seeing you do the "gangster walk" at a concert at the casino. That's when I started calling you "SMOOTH Cool". Gone but always in memory. Nurse Beverly

25 years ago I was 19, and I lived in the old cotton exchange building downtown. I needed some quarters for the laundry. I didn’t want to walk all the way to the store on north Jackson for change. Instead I took a couple of folding chairs, a small boom box, and a Jar for change and set in front of the building playing cds for tips. Remembering "Smooth Cool" Kylan as I reflect on this time last year. I miss his presence on WDIA and his wonderful voice. Praying for comfort for the Hunt family and friends. Rest in peace, Kylan . You are not forgotten.
