Crowley, of San Ramon, Calif., died April 6 in a gun battle in Iraq. He is survived by his father and mother, Mary. Crowley joined the Marines after graduating from high school last spring. "I saw the growth in him, the maturity, the self-confidence, self-esteem," said his high school principal, Mark Corti. "He was just a new young man."
