I met Howard in the mid 80´s as my mentor Hunter A Hogan Jr of Norfolk brought us together for lunch on day. Then we immediately became close friends and traveled together. He next brought me home to meet Cheryl and the boys. Soon thereafter he brought me to Richmond in 1989 to share the dream of living close to him and working with him. Many years have passed since I last encountered Howard but when I think of the genuinely "nice guys" I´ve known during my lifetime , his name is at the top of the list. RIP.

I met Howard when he first started dating Cheryl. He was a character with a beautiful smile. My heart will always remember Howard´s wonderful smile, big hugs and kind words.
