Not sure what to say?

a wonderful insiring teacher and person to know made you feel special loved him dearly and will be greatly thought of and missed one of a kind GOD BLESS HIM

A teacher, a mentor, and a true hero is the best way to describe his life. He shaped and helped so many with his life.

I am deeply saddened to learn that Mr. Lichtel has passed away and offer my sincerest sympathy to his family. Mr. Lichtel was a brilliant educator and a true gentleman and I consider myself fortunate to have known him. From his classroom at the Lincoln school, he taught me at an early age the importance of setting high goals for one's self and seeking excellence in all that you do. As a member of the community, he was the model for what it means to be a model citizen. He led by example...

When I heard Mr.Lichtel had died, I had to call people and email many more. Mr. Lichtel was a stern and solid man in the classroom; his monotone voice is still logged in my memory. After repeated episodes of clowning around with Tom Jasper in the classroom , Mr. Lichtel took time to talk to me in his "cloak room" where I was sure he would fire up his imfamous "electric paddle". Not only were Mr.Lichtels words tender and forgiving, he challanged me to do better, something I knew I could do. As...

Mr Lichtel was my teacher back in the 40's and I am lucky to have been educated by the best of the best. His teachings have been with me all thru my life and I will never forget him. I remember back in the 40's he offered our class a box to decorate for Valentine's Day and put our Valentine cards in, however, we had to go to his house to pick it up. As 5th & 6th graders, we were nervous to go to a teacher's house. When we got there and he took his coat off, oh my, we saw he was wearing...

Mr. Lichtel was my hero. Fifty years ago as a 6th grader in his classroom, I was inspired by his kindness and his professionalism. After 37 years as an educator myself, I'm still in awe of him. When I retired 4 years ago, I wrote to Mr. Lichtel, and I was thrilled when he wrote back with memories of my days at the Lincoln School and even sent pictures of my class. Last year I called him, and I was amazed at how much he remembered from his long career. We shared stories of his late son...

A wonderful, wonderful man and teacher. You will be missed greatly!

Lincoln school 1970-1975

I wanted the entire Lichtel family to know we are thinking of you. I was fortunate enough to meet Mr. Lichtel on several occasions and he was a very kind person and it was fun to hear his stories.

God saw you were getting tired, and a cure was not to be. So he put his arms around you And whispered, "Come to me." With tearful eyes we watched you, and saw you pass away. Although we loved you dearly, we could not make you stay. A golden heart stopped beating, hard working hands at rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us, he only takes the best.

What a wonderful teacher and man. I had him for a teacher @ Lincoln School 1965 but seen him every since I went to school there and...
