After a courageous fight with cancer, L. Stephen Albright died on Monday (Aug. 25, 2008) in Calabasas, Calif. Stephen was born on Jan. 8, 1952, in Morgantown, and grew up here in Fairmont. He graduated from Fairmont Senior High School in 1970, received his undergraduate degree in business administration from West Virginia University and his JD from Whittier College School of Law in Los Angeles, Calif. He was admitted to the California Bar in 1983, the West Virginia Bar in 1984 and practiced law in Los Angeles until shortly before his death.Stephen leaves behind his loving wife, Jana Hart Albright; and their two children, Alexander Hart Albright, age 20 and Erin Elizabeth Albright, age 18, all of Calabasas, Calif. He is also survived by his parents, June and Dick Albright of Lehigh Acres, Fla.; his brother, Tim Albright of Naples, Fla.; his sister, Betsy Kuhn of Fairmont; and 10 nieces and nephews.Stephen had a great love for WVU and the Mountaineers. He tried to return as often as possible to speak with students in the College of Business and Economics or to attend a football game. So if you are so inclined, the family requests that donations be made to the L. Stephen Albright WVU Scholarship Fund, an endowed scholarship in memory of Stephen set up through the WVU Alumni Association’s Loyalty Permanent Endowment Fund (LPEF). This scholarship will be awarded a student from the College of Business and Economics who is a resident of West Virginia. Please contact Stephen L. I was so sorry to hear about Steve's passing. We were good friends in high school. I know he was in a lot of pain lately with his cancer. My thoughts are with all of you at this time. He was a wonderful and very kind person.

Condolences to the family, Steve and I were freinds in high school and worked together for a short time at Helmick Corporation. He will surely be missed.
