Not sure what to say?

I was one of the fortunate missionaries to serve under President Goates in the California Arcadia Mission during the first part of my mission in 1978. I believe I served under him for about 6 months. The remainder of my mission was served under President Martin Zachreson. President Goates left a lasting impression on me during that short period. He was a giant spiritual leader and knew how to motivate, encourage and uplift people. He touched the lives of many, influenced and impacted...

I am so thankful to have been introduced to Brent and Helen, when Richard Bird Goates and I sat at the Jackson's dinner table, listening to pioneer stories - as a new convert in 1978. Brent was a great influence on my even the few times we visited them in their home. Thank you for wonderful memories !

Sorry to hear about President Goates passing I was one of many missionaries that he inspired in the Arcadia mission.

I was also one of the sisters' "Quorum" in the California Arcadia Mission. He was a wonderful spiritual leader and great example to the missionaries in his care. Such fond memories of President and Sister Goates. Their influence has been very valuable in my life.

I was lucky enough to be a Sister Missionary that belonged to President Goates "Special Quorum" as he had 12 Sister Missionaries. I learned many valuable lessons from President & Sister Goates while serving with them. It is a time in my life that I cherish deeply. y prayers of comfort go to his family as this time of loss.

Dear Hall Goates,
My sincere condolences on the passing of your father. May your testimony of the gospel bring peace to your soul.

I have fond memories of the Goates family. Brother Goates moved into the Federal Heights Ward over 60 years ago and he was my Teacher's Quorum Advisor. I still remember his wise counsel and sense of humor. My condolances to all in his family

Dear Dave, Hal, Jon & Tim,

My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time. Your family has had a great impact on me during almost every phase of my life. Your mom and dad were truly wonderful people as evidenced by your lives of example and service.

Condolences to the Goates family. Brent was always a pleasant and encouraging man to this out-of-control teenager. Buzz Sandberg and I home taught the Goates, for 4 years.
