Not sure what to say?

I don't even know where to start...
I first had the pleasure and privelege of working with both Nate and Dale Hanks (and Mary Ellen!) at TSI. I was Dale's assistant for many years. I have never and will never forget Dale and the great wisdom he shared, the example he led, and the friend/father-figure he was for me. I experienced everyday what a wonderful human being he was to others, the truly selfless acts he performed everyday for others, countless acts, patience, his integrity,...

Dear
Mary Ellen and Family:
My prayers are with you at this time. I want you to know what a great blessing it was to be able to write you prior to his passing. I hope that the out pouring of love, notes, and messages from your family, friends and loved ones helps ease the loss that you feel. President Hanks was always about his Father's business and in his passing again he was preparing for another mission and call - to serve those who had already gone before. Although he will be...

Hanks family,

President Hinkleys daughter gave a closing prayer at his service last Saturday. In it she said her father wore out his life serving others. I believe your Husband and father did this as well. As my missionary president, he helped mold me into who I am today. I am thankful for my chance to know him and his beloved wife. One of my fondest memories of the both of you is jumping in & out of the toilet bowl at Hanama bay in Hawaii. Thank you Sister Hanks for you and your...

Wow, I am blown away from the news. Dale was such an inspiration and I have always kept him close to my heart. He is the one that created the "business mindset" in me. Dale was always someone I aspired to be like. He was like a father to me, especially when I lost mine. He was always there for me. What a true friend who I will never forget. Dale, thanks for helping me be the person I am today. I will always remember you and love you. I will see you again someday and will embrace you...

Dear Hanks Family: I just learned of Dale's passing and wanted to express my condolences to all of you. Seeing his photo and reading his obituary has prompted me to reflect on some wonderful memories of the times I spent with each of you while you were living in Calgary. I still occasionally drive down Willowbrook Drive just to reminisce about times spent bumper skiing, jumping on your over used trampoline, playing capture the flag and throwing the odd snowball. Your family was a big part...

Dear Mary Ellen and Family:

It is an honor and a priviledge to know your family. What a blessing it is to be so close with Deanne and having the opportunity of meeting your family. I'll never forget visiting you and Dale in Palmyra and laughing together. I remember looking out your window and could not beleive that each morning you and Dale woke up looking at the Sacred Grove only feet away. That was amazing, as are you Mary Ellen. May you know of our love and prayers for you and...

Sister Hanks,
I am so sorry for your loss. While my direct exposure to you and your husband was limited to my high school years 20 years ago, your influence on my life, through your son Stan and his family, has been a great blessing in my life. The influence of you and your husband reach further than you will ever know. Thank you so much.

Please know my prayers are with you at this trying time. May the comforting spirit of our Father be you.

What a mighty oak Dale was, bringing comfort to all those who pause even briefly in his shadow. When I arrive in Paradise I hope to be greeted and given a tour by him as you did for thousands here.

Dear Mary Ellen,
Sharon and I were saddened to hear about Dale, and send our love to you and your family. Though years and geography have separated us, we still remember the good times we had together as young returned "Newfy missionaries" with wives. We were oh so young back then, energetic and filled with enthusiasm. And We so enjoyed each other's company and kept our contacts for a long time. We were proud that we had served in New England, Newfoundland, and that S....
