Johnson-Williams Funeral Home Obituary

L.M. 'Bo' Rogers, "Mayor of RoEllen," 87, of RoEllen, died Friday, Nov. 13, 2009 at Regional Hospital of Jackson. He was owner of Bo Rogers Garage in RoEllen, a member of RoEllen Church of Christ, and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II serving in the Africa, Sicily and Italy campaigns. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home with Bro. Parks Thurmon officiating. Burial will be in RoEllen Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 2-4 p.m. today at the funeral home. Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Nevilla L. Rogers of Dyersburg; a daughter, Dianne Permenter and husband, Bobby, of RoEllen; two sons, Barry Rogers and wife, Teri, and Pat Rogers and wife, Judy, all of RoEllen; five grandchildren, Shannan Burton and husband, Earl, and Becky Kent and husband, Kris, all of Newbern, Bo Rogers, Katherine Rogers and Taylor Rogers, all of RoEllen; and three great-grandchildren, Courtney Burton, Hannah Kent and Mattie Kent, all of Newbern. He was preceded in death by his parents, Everett and Alice Cook Rogers; a sister, Sis Harrison; and two brothers, Autra Rogers and Roy Rogers. Pallbearers will be Earl Burton, Kris Kent, Bo Rogers, Green Smitheal, Clifford Hopgood and Doug Clifton. Honorary pallbearers will be Roger Harrison, Ralph "Cooter" McDowell, James Taylor, Alan Burchfiel, James Mallard, S.G. Coker, Jute Bell, Taylor Rogers, Gerald Newbill, Choc Buchanan, Buddy Hill and Ralph Holland.
