L. J. "Hopper" Wright, 68, of Lawndale, North Carolina, a U.S. Army veteran, a self-employed farmer, died at Frye Regional Medical Center on Wednesday, February 5, 2003. Visitation is scheduled for Friday, February 7, 2003, 6-8 p.m., at Stamey Funeral Home, 846 East Stagecoach Trail, Fallston, North Carolina. Lying in state on Saturday, February 8, 2-2:30 p.m., at Zion Hill Baptist Church. Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, 2:30 p.m., at the church, officiated by the Rev. Burl Sain, the Rev. Frankie Bass, and the Rev. Darrin Hughes. Burial will be at Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. Memorial donations are appreciated to Hospice of Burke County, P.O.
