LADARIOUS KERNARD PHILLIPS 1991 - 2012 Ladarious Kernard Phillips, age 20 of Roanoke, Alabama, was born September 15, 1991 in Roanoke and died June 9, 2012 in Opelika at East Alabama Medical Center. He was of the Baptist faith and member of Rehope Baptist Church of Double Head, Alabama. Mr. Phillips is survived by his parents, Vincent Bell and Jemecia Phillips; his daughter, Jodazalyn Fuller; brothers, Semaj Nunn, McKale Vincent Bell, and John Wesley Bell; sisters, Montana Brooks, Shereka Bell, Lavincia Bell, and Kadesha Bell of Franklin, GA; maternal grandparents, Brenda Phillips and Jimmy Phillips; paternal grandparents Audrey Owens and Gary Owens, and great-grandmother, Audrey Phillips, as well as a host of other family and friends. He was a sophomore at Auburn University and was recruited to the 2010 Auburn University football team. He was majoring in Exercise Science and had planned to transfer to Jacksonville State to continue his football career. He graduated from Handley High School in 2010. While in high school he was a four year starter playing multiple positions, was named 2009 Class 4A First Team All-State by the Alabama Sports Writers Association as a defensive lineman, and named to the 2009 Dandy Dozen by the Anniston Star. During his final three seasons, he rushed for a total of 2,982 yards and 49 touchdowns. As a senior, he rushed for 1,145 yards and 16 touchdowns on 141 carries while helping guide the team to the state semifinals. He collected 59 tackles including 13 tackles for loss and eight sacks while forcing two fumbles. He also won the shot put for class 4A at the 2009 ASHAA state track meet and finished second in 2008. Funeral service will be held Friday, June 15, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at the Handley High School Gymnasium, with Rev. Harvey Jones of Rehope Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow in Rehope Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at the gymnasium. I got the pleasure to met Dada when he came to play at Auburn, All the kids that was on scholarship had to come and eat. And every Sunday we would close down just for the players. But I got a chance to sit down with him and share go conversation.I would talk about my kids and he would talk about his daughter. He will be truly missed
