My family has bought doughnuts from Ms. Laila for many years. After church, my mother would take us for doughnuts. There were always older gentlemen sitting in the shop, talking. Such a community enriching business. My favorite to this day is the chocolate sprinkle. I told Ms. Laila, I have traveled all over the U.S. but I still come home to my favorite chocolate sprinkle at Southern Maid. My condolences to the family. You are all in my prayers.

I would always shop at the shop . I´d go every Sunday during my middle school days and she was so kind and caring to me . I went so much she remembered my order which was 2 jalapeño kolaches and a dozen donut hole with a chocolate meal. I had stop going after middle school but in my senior year I went for some donuts and she somehow still remembered me even after I had aged . So sad to hear her passing , in times like these good people like her are needed .

May you have blessings of beautiful memories to sustain you and your family for years to come. For years my children and I had the pleasure of seeing her smiling face of a morning. Your family helped our family start our days with a treat of, not only a sweet, but of a cheerful attitude. You blessed our lives. Blessings on your family.

Laila was such a sweet lady, whenever I went into the donut shop, she always greeted me with a smile and asked if I wanted kolaches or chocolate iced donuts that day. It may have been months since I had been to the shop, but she always remembered. It's hard to believe I won't be seeing her smiling face across the counter from me ever again. Goodbye sweet Laila, you will be missed.

Our family adored her. My son , now 11, has been a fan of hers since he could talk. She always remembered him when he came in and always let him run around the corner for a hug and they had wonderful convos about soccer, grandbabies, Disney trips, etc. She was always so lovely to us and the best part of the weekend was seeing her smiling face. Much love to her family for sharing her with us.
