Lamar Allen Baer, 66, of Wichita Falls, passed away Friday, December 29, 2023 in Missouri.
The family will receive friends between 6 and 7:30 p.m. Thursday, January 11, 2024 at Owens & Brumley Funeral Home in Wichita Falls. Funeral services celebrating Lamar’s life will be 3:00 p.m. Friday, January 12, 2024 at First United Methodist Church in Wichita Falls with Rev. Georgia Harrison, Dr. John McLarty, Dr. David Hartman, and Dr. Paul Goodrich, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home in Wichita Falls.
Lamar was born on September 14, 1957 in Wichita Falls, Texas to Richard Lamar and Verdell Frieda (Schulz) Baer. He was a lifelong resident of Wichita Falls, and a 1976 graduate of Hirschi High School. He went on to attend Midwestern State University and was a member of Sigma Nu Fraternity.
Lamar married the love of his life, Jeanmarie Holder on August 14, 1982. He worked several years at Vic & James Decorating, was part owner and operator of Alphagraphics, and retired with over 20 years of service with Wichita Restaurant Supply. Lamar was a member of First United Methodist Church for over 30 years and was active in the Berean and Genesis Sunday School class.
Lamar was a true friend to everyone he met. His motto was “the more the merrier”! He could cook a steak like nobodies business and was always willing to do so. He will lovingly be remembered by many and missed by all.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Verdell Baer; and his brother-in-law, James Holder.
He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Jeanmarie Baer; his son, Parker Baer; his daughter, Claire Baer all of Wichita Falls; his sister, Dell Lynne Baer-Baker of Grove, Oklahoma; his brother, Paul Baer and wife Margaret of Wichita Falls; his nephews and nieces, Brian Baker and wife Libby, Clayton Baker and wife Joanna, Allison White and husband James, Ben Holder and wife Bonnie, Bradley Holder and wife Madeline, David Baer and wife Bianca, and Hannah Baer and husband Justin; and his brother-in-law, David Holder and wife Patsy.
