Pastor Lamar Beverly-Davis

Pastor Lamar Davis was a fatherly friend of mine. When I moved to Milwaukee in 1989, I met him shortly thereafter in ministerial venues. He was a very happy and truthful man of God. He invited me to speak at his church and became a fatherly type mentor in things pertaining to the kingdom of God. I got to know his wife and son and found them to be family in their embrace of me as a newcomer to the Milwaukee area. Pastor Lamar stood boldly for the truth of the gospel and was a no nonsense...

Goodbye my friend. We will meet again, but until then, I will continue the legacy that Christ, you and so many others left behind. It is with my deepest sympathy that I write this to your love wife and family. Know that God will continue to cover you and bless you abundantly.

Our prayers are with the family of Pastor Lamar, we are truly saddened by your loss. Our father has spoken "Well done though good and faithful servant". We can hear Pastor Lamar saying I have finished my course,I have kept the faith. He had such a joyous spirit. Pastor Lamar always left you with something to think about in serving the Lord, reminding us that there is a lot of work to be done. May God comfort you all in this difficult time.

In "any time of need" Pastor Lamar and his beautiful wife and son along with his wife, are "Strong Towers"! My "sorrow" is not that he is gone, for He Is In The BEST PLACE EVER; no it is that I had only a short time to enjoy his messages of Truth, Love, Hope and Understanding, a Righteous Man of God! May God bless the Beverly-Davis family. May He give you strength to go through. I knew Pastor Beverly-Davis in our younger years in life in Milwaukee. His parents and I worshiped together in the same church years ago, which at that time was West Side Church of God in Christ, Pastored by the late Elder Felix Lewis.
