Read MoreIn July 1969 in Hickory, I wrecked my Derby car after winning my first heat when a brakepad pin sheared off. Drew was at the race supporting John Vaughn's race in Hickory. Drew helped me re-align the axles using a string technique. I went on to win the championship. I will never forget him and his kindness.

Drew and I graduated together from Georgia Tech and were close fraternity brothers. Had many a good time together. I remember in particular one trip to New Orleans, when Georgia Tech was invited to the Sugar Bowl. Right behind you Brother.
