It is with heavy hearts and deep sadness that we announce the tragic and unexpected death of Lana Abou-Hatoum on July 15, 2025. A born and raised Brooklynite, Lana attended Visitation Academy and Fontbonne Hall Academy in Bay Ridge before attending Roger Williams University in Rhode Island.
Lana had a passion for health and fitness, and enjoyed her work as a personal trainer. Though some knew her to have a quiet demeanor, Lana was full of life and wit; she was known to make a room erupt in laughter. Lana loved children, animals, and gardening - in true middle child fashion, she also loved the middle slice from a tray of L&B pizza.
Lana was a beloved daughter, sister, niece, cousin, friend, and partner. Lana leaves behind her mother, Gada Abou-Hatoum (née Habibi), her sisters, Mona and Dina Abou-Hatoum, as well as her partner, Kevin Kramer.
Our family has faith that Lana has been welcomed home by her dearly departed father, Diab Abou-Hatoum. They've joined generations of our ancestors, both Abou-Hatoum and Habibi, basking in the shade of Palestinian olive trees for eternity.
