Not sure what to say?

Heidi, I fondly remember you and Lance from my days in the 963 AEW&C Squadron at McClellan AFB. Everybody loved Lance and enjoyed the parties he threw at his pool. I was just thinking of him and googled him. Unfortunately what came up was his obituary. My heart aches for you. You were such a great and calming influence on Lance.

Miss Lance a lot, his knowledge, wit, and a great business partner. You will always be remembered. I still refer to papers you shared about Juice Plus and how it helps the body.

I knew Lance Scalf at Central. We knew each other from classes (Central only had 3K students then) as well as socially. A group of us usually met somewhere just talking and when someone was able to buy beers we enjoyed each other's company even more. I remember very well the day several buddies including Lance were commissioned after graduation. Pretty sharp in their uniforms. That class lost three class members in Vietnam. I found his obituary when I was randomly thinking about Central...

I just learned of Lance’s passing, and my heart is heavy. I moved to Tallahassee in 2000, and had the good fortune of buying the home next to Lance and Heidi’s. Lance was a warm, welcoming, genuinely kind human. He was a great neighbor. I remember him showing up with an axe one day after seeing me struggle to remove a tricky tree stump on my own, without success. He saw that I probably needed help, and there he was, hoping to help, without me even asking. That’s the kind of person he was. ...

Heidi, we will miss Lance. Just the other day, I was telling our daughter, Laura, how she was raised on Lance Scalf's wonderful class on parenting at Faith. We were blessed to benefit from Lance's knowledge and wisdom. We send our love and condolences to you and Heather.

Lance was full of knowledge, a great Juice Plus team member , and was always full of life at our Juice Plus meetings and conventions that he attended. He will be missed. I want Heidi and Heather to know I am thinking of them. No one can feel the sorrow you bear at this time, but I hope it may ease your loss and bring comfort that my thoughts are there in sympathy with you both.

Lance spent countless hours seeing clients, many who did not have insurance or the ability to pay. His understanding of PTSD and his application of that knowledge actually saved families, careers and lives. He also used his private practice to help others start their careers. Without a doubt there are many Vietnam Veterans at the gates Welcoming Captain Scalf home.

Heidi, I am so sorry to hear of Lance's passing. I always enjoyed seeing him and you when you came to Reno and attended church. I know your heart is broken and I'm right there with you as I lost Willis February 13th. But we both grew up together and spent many Sundays together, so we have the background to carry on even though it will not be easy. Love, Alice Shores Dodson
