Lance Tapia, 42 of West Jordan Utah, passed away far too soon on Wednesday, November 18, 2020. On November 2nd Lance was admitted to the hospital for Pneumonia and his body became septic. Lance fought really hard for two weeks while he was in the ICU at St. Marks Hospital, where he was also born.
Lance loved the outdoors and was an extremely avid hunter. He was quite particular with where he went and Millcreek was that place for him to go backpacking and to bow hunt. Lance also loved to go fishing as a family and would always take the kids to Millhollow because in his eyes that was the best and only place to go fishing. There are very fond memories of family trips there which is something their family will cherish forever.
Lance loved his kids so much and sought out the absolute best for them. His favorite things to do with them were to watch movies and play games. Any time he got to spend with them was something that he always treasured. He was and still is so proud of who they are and who they are becoming. He will continue to watch over them as they achieve some of the biggest milestones of their lives.
Lance is survived by his children; Skyler, Kaylee, Kailee, Kassidee, Kayla, Braxton, and River. Parents; Hector and Tawnya Tapia. His siblings; Heidi Breeze (Dave), Erik Tapia (Crystal), Brandon Tapia (Jaclyn), and Nick Tapia. As well as many many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
He is also survived by his wife Leilani who stayed by his side the entire time. She stayed late and overnight, far past visiting hours. She was right there with him during his final days as his personal nurse any chance she got to help keep him calm and soothe his nerves during his final hours here on earth.
Lance is preceded in death by his grandparents and cousins
The Tapia family is so grateful to all of the nurses and doctors that took amazing care of Lance and for allowing his children to come and see him and for letting Leilani be there and help care for him.
There will be a viewing on Sunday, November 22nd from 2pm-4pm for all close friends and family. It will be held at the Broomhead Funeral home which is located at 12600 S 2200 W Riverton, UT.
