Dr. Lane Rutledge

Dr Lane Rutledge was the most exceptional doctor. She treated our son from 1996 to 1998 at Children's Hospital in Birmingham, AL. She is the reason he is healthy and successful today. I have told the story of our experiences with Dr. Rutledge countless times as she was our hero. I am so sad to hear of her passing. She truly changed the world for our family. Dr. Rutledge, we really miss having you as our doctor. Things are good but you always made them feel great! There will never be a greater doctor than you. We will love you and miss you forever. You were family to us.

Every time I read an account of a child helped by a wise and compassionate physician, i think of Lane. She was an inspiration to all and has gone too soon.

As it gets closer to the anniversery of her passing I can't help but to think of her. She was my doctor for 27 years. She was like a mother to me. She wasn't just an amazing doctor, she was an amazing human. She was like family to me and I miss her all the time. This is November, 2019 and I still think about Lane. We traveled to China together to adopt. Our baby girls were from the exact same orphanage and even shared a bed in the same room sometimes. Lane helped me so much. She had adopted before, but I was an inexperienced new mother. I will never forget her kindness and her words of wisdom. Thank you Lane! I pray for your family and your girls!
