Not sure what to say?

Im so sorry to hear of Lannys passing. Many years ago I worked with a young man named Lanny Middings. The year was 1957 and the Lanny I knew worked part time at Blue Ribbon Laundry in Dallas, TX while attending SMU. I was thinking of him and ran across this obituary in my search. I wonder if this is the same Lanny Middings I worked with in Dallas. My name is John Stracener. He was a great young guy and we had a fun time working together. My email is [email protected]. I would...

As a young teen, I originally thought his letters were made up person! They were so diametrically opposed to my worldview. But I came to respect his passion and beliefs. RIP

Lanny was an outstanding person. He was moral to the core. His
intellect showed in his many letters of many truths unrecognized
by so many people. He was a patriot and defender of the Constitution.

Lanny will be greatly missed by his family and friends. His passing
has left a hole that cannot be refilled.

For many years I've enjoyed reading Lanny's letters to the editor. Didn't always agree with his opinions, but he expressed them so well they were a pleasure to read (in fact, his style became so familiar I could tell from the first sentence or two that he was the writer.
Thanks, Lanny, for all the smiles you brought.

Will miss him and his writing. Loved the article about Lei Ray and Tom Souza!!! He was my second supervisor at Chevron and a very good one.

My deepest condolences to Lanny's family. He was a genuine artist as a prankster. A joy to work with because of his fairness and understanding. We had so many belly laughs from Lanny. He is truly missed. Rest in peace my friend.

Well, I am sorry I won't be hearing from Lanny anymore, in any of his many disguises. His letters had a certain look -- the envelopes were always typed and in a particular font -- and I always wondered, when I got other letters that looked like that, with different names and postmarked from different places, if they were from him. I guess I'll find out now. I imagine I had more contact with Lanny than I ever imagined. I do appreciate that he defended me once in print, to my complete...

Lanny and i worked together at Chevron he was great to be around there was never a dule moment. He was always happy and cheerful so sorry to see he is gone but where ever he is he is making everyone happy

Lanny was my favorite supervisor when I worked at Chevron. He was such a smart and witty man. His letters to the editors of the local newspaper were sometimes controversial but often thought provoking. I always thought he should have worked in the editorial department where his writing talents would be appreciated. He will be missed by many.... R.R.
