It's 2025 when I am reading Lars obituary. I never heard of his death. I had much respect for Lar. I was able to meet up with and talk artifacts with him. RIP "Lar"

My Dad gave me several Lar Hothem books and knew him as an acquaintance at artifact shows. He told me Lar intended to put one of his points on a cover but Lar passed away before it happened. My dad has since passed in 2019. Ironically, I´ve been asked to give a presentation with my artifact collection. Im an amateur and will be citing Lar´s books. Hopefully carrying on his legacy and my Dad´s with honor.

Lar's life and work now speaks for him as the evidence of the caliber of his character, dedication and integrity;...

I first met him in the early 1990’s as he was putting books on his table at the Owensboro Artifact Show. He always had a kind smile, something nice to say and lots and lots of books to browse through.
If I went to a show and did not buy an artifact, I usually always acquired a book from him.
Lar was instrumental in helping me obtain several of my favorite titles in my archaeological library. It was through him I acquired the massive six volume set PreColumbian Shell Engravings from...
