LaRae Hart Obituary
LaRae Ann Johnson Hart was born on March 19, 1933 to Vernal Nels Johnson and Thelma Elizabeth Anderson in Ogden, Utah. LaRae was the fourth of nine children - Derald, Delores, Kenneth, Max, Paul, Leah, Robert, Dianne. She passed away on July 25, 2017; one year and one day following the death of her son, Kent. LaRae's favorite roles in life were being a wife and mother. LaRae was sealed to her eternal companion, Richard Lee Hart, on March 14, 1956 in the Logan Temple.
LaRae's main focus was raising her children, but when the time came, she began working outside the home. She worked seven years part-time as an instructional aide at Stansbury Elementary. In 1980, she went to work full-time as a secretary for the State of Utah Police Academy (POST) and in 1984 began work as an administrative assistant at Salt Lake Community College. LaRae served in various callings within the LDS church. She served 17 years in the Mutual Improvement Association, Stake Relief Society secretary, Mutual Improvement Association instructor, a visiting teacher, and 15 years as a Jordan River Temple worker.
Her life was centered around the most important things to her - the Lord, her husband and family. She always said, "If we all help, we will all make it!" She lived by this motto on a daily basis and would do anything for any member of her family. She was a firm believer of the temple prayer roll and whenever something was going on in a member of her family's life, the first thing she did was call multiple temple prayer rolls so that those members would receive those additional blessings.
LaRae is survived by her husband of 61 years, Richard; children - Mitchell Hart (Michele); Maurine Hart Hendrickson, Karen Hart, 9 grandchildren and their spouses; 6 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Kent (Giovanna).
A viewing will be held on Friday, August 4th from 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm at Valley View Funeral Home, 4335 West 4100 South, West Valley City, UT. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 5th, 12:00 pm, at the LDS Jordan North Stake Center, 3900 South 4000 West. A viewing will be held that morning from 10:30 am - 11:30 am. Interment will be held at Valley View Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, please consider a generous donation to the LDS Humanitarian Fund, https://www.ldsphilanthropies.org/humanitarian-services.html

Grandma Hart, is so sweet. I still have my stocking she made me for Christmas. I am glad I was able to see them in April. Now she may be with Kent and see the light of our Savior's face.

When I first moved into the 8th Ward, I would sit with Richard and LaRae. They are good people. I often thought of them as my adopted Mom and Dad. Sister Hart would often comment how big the kids were and always wanted to know how I was doing. She had such a sweet and tender spirit.

We were so saddened to learn of LaRae's passing. She and her husband, Richard, were some of our favorite people. Their children were raised with ours and we were always proud to call them friends. Even after moving from the community our paths still crossed periodically.
Our deepest sympathies go out to Richard and all the kids for their loss.

Larae will be so missed by all that knew her. She was my friend and very special client. She was one of the most positive people I have ever met. She loved her family more than life it self and talked so highly of each and everyone of them! The hairdresser always knows❤
Every time I had any kind of health issue down to the smallest thing she would go right home and put me on the prayer list. She was my earth bound Angel for sure Now she is my Heavenly Angel that will always be in my salon with me. She always told everybody that gave her a compliment on her hair it was because of her hair dresser. She gave me way to much credit Her hair was the thickest prettiest white hair I ever saw. Thank you for being part of my life❤

The world has lost a true gem of a woman. My grandma was an inspiration to all. She had a sweetness about her that would make anyone fall in love with her. She just had that affect on people. She always said that people will think that I am old and funny, so no one will care what I do. Lol!!!! She will always be remembered as the one who, instead of buying new carpet, decided to get a carpet needle and repair portions with dental floss and yarn. She was one of a kind and will be missed great. I love you grandma and yes, "You're Fun!!"

Maurine & Family. I am so sorry to hear of your Mother's Passing. It sounds like she was a wonderful person. I don't know any of the family except Maurine, but if LaRae is anything like her daughter Maurine she is a wonderful person and is truly loved and respected by all.
