Not sure what to say?

I met Larry at Western Illinois Univ. where we were dorm mates. We became very good friends and recall many fond memories of weekends spent at his parents farm. They were so nice to me and made me feel so welcome. I was honored to be the "Best Man" at Larry and Karen's wedding. Then the following Jan. Larry did me the honor of being my "Best Man" when I got married. So many years have passed as I relocated to another state but that friendship was still there. My heartfelt condolences go...

Just out of chance, I happened to Google Larry Barrett, Valley Irrigation, today. Sadly, I see he past away just this past Saturday. Then I was even more surprised to see my father's name in Larry's obituary. My condolences to your family for your loss. It's been 40 plus years but I remember Larry as always having a smile on his face.

I always considered Larry to be a super nice and caring guy. Not too many of those in Irrigation came from Illinois. He was on the Valmont dealer council and had some interesting ways of bring the meeting to order when he was chairman. He will be missed by many. Including me.

Many great memories of Larry, Karen & the boys when they were down at Matanzas Beach, he gave the best boat rides, he would tell you to hold on & then whip it! Always a smile on his face & in his heart, may your many memories bring a smile to you as well.

I loved Larry's sense of humor. He was always a pleasure to be around. I think that he changed the landscape of Central Illinois, and that is a very worthy legacy to have achieved in one lifetime.
