Not sure what to say?

Larry aka Flakes was a good guy to have known. He was a passionate person about his spiritual being and more so about his music. An individual, whom was my friend.

Larry Boddie made a deep impression on people. He was a devoted husband, musician, devout in his faith. He was kind and gentle and never spoke ill of anyone. He wasn't afraid to let the people he loved KNOW he loved them. I hope by knowing him I can become
a kinder, gentler soul as a reflection of his.

Larry is missed in our musical family and in our hearts. Warm regards to Yvonne and his family.

Blessings to Yvonne and to my best friend Larry. "Flakes" and I have been bonded in brotherhood for 56 years. I bear a fair measure of his being within me. We learned to play and pray as little boys. We marched for justice before our teens, we were high school fraternity brothers (Alpha Kappa Phi), we broadened our horizons together at Howard University, played alot of great music as we shared the band stand for decades. This is a tribute to a life well lived. Rest well sweet prince for you...

I met Larry when I joined the Cleve Francis Band in High School. He was an exciting musician - always with something new on-stage. I enjoyed performing with him. With love.

It was an honor and priviledge to have known Larry. He was a wonderful, passionate musician and I am blessed to have had the opportunity to share some great moments performing with him.
God Bless you

Larry and I go back to the fun days playing at Malcolm X Park in the 70's and many other musical events at Howard U. "Flakes" will be long remembered as he joins Barnett Williams and Baba Ngoma, two very well known prcussionist, teachers and positive spirits. I am glad to have performed with Larry with the Cleve Francis Band,he got the gig for me; always pleasant and caring "Flakes" will be missed.

I had the priviledge of working beside Larry in the Respiratory Care department at Sotuhside Regional Hospital. He was a good man who cared deeply about his patients and co-workers. Larry went through life knowing that he made a difference for those lives he touched. Larry, it is an honor to have you as a friend and I look forward to meeting you above and once again sharing stories of our time at SRMC. God Bless you always.

I enjoyed performing with Larry in the Cleve Francis band. He was always a pleasure to work with. I will miss our great conversations about music. Rest in peace, Larry.

Our season has passed, but my memories of our earlier days; playing football or running track, and your playing of congo drums still remain. My brother and true friend, know you are never forgotten.
