Not sure what to say?

I still think about Mr Chartier from time to time! I wish we could discuss what’s going on with AI. Although he was a chemistry teacher, he told me once that his real passion was physics. He also told me that he loved Crosby Stills Nash and Young. Specifically when Neil Young was part of the band. And I can still do dimensional analysis, and convert units effortlessly.

Larry and I were roommates at Central Michigan. We lost track of each other after college. Wish I would have looked for him sooner. He was such a great guy, I'm glad I knew him.

As I read more stories about my brother I relize what an insperation he was to so many people! I am very proud that he was a part of my life. Everyday I think of him & wish I would have spent more time being with him. Based on all these stories he meant a lot to so many people. I miss him so so much. I don't want to forget him

I owe Mr. Chartier so much...he was my favorite high school teacher. To this day I use the things he taught me, like "dimensional analysis." He introduced me to the Apple II computer and inspired me to love the sciences; math, physics, chemistry and more. Teachers can make such a huge contribution to our society. He could have been in a lab somewhere, probably happier, but he gave his time to the kids. I loved this man. I'm so sad to hear that he's passed.

I seemed to know Larry all my life. He and his wonderful family lived next door to me and my family. Larry's brother Emery was my best friend and my best man at my wedding. His older brother Larry was a guy that I always looked up to. He was small in stature but there was no bigger man than he.
I would like to relate an incident that occurred when I was about 11. Larry would have been about 13. We were walking on Midland Rd between our two houses. Just Larry and me. I was a...

My condolences to you all. My husband Jeff and I met in Perry High School, and both had the privilege of learning from Mr. Chartier. He came to school every day with a passion for teaching and a love for his students. My fondest memory is the day he got frustrated with Mike Nyquist who was sitting behind me, goofing off. Mr. Chartier whipped the chalk eraser right past my ear, and hit Mike to get his attention! Also, he always took the time to spend with you 1-on-1 to help you understand a...

Cathy, David and Andy,
Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you at this time.

Captains Lynda and Larry Hogaboom

I have so many happy memories growing up with the Chartier clan. All though we don't see each other much anymore, the song remains the same. Mr. (and Mrs.) Chartier always had a warm, welcoming approach with people...which has trickled down to both their boys, Dave and Andy. Summer trips to Leland, Frankenmuth, Tenessee, and even Disney world, via Captain Larry at the helm of the ole' RV, are still great memories I hold dear. And how about golf, he loved the game. We couldnt get a round...

As a student, I spent three years in Mr. Chartier's classroom, as many students did. In that time, he not only stoked the fire in me for science and technology, but he also helped develop the understanding that I could do or be anything that I wanted, as long as I applied myself. I wasn't limited because I went to a small school in a country town, I was only limited by my desire. This, above all, was his greatest lesson. Because of this, his legacy will include a whole generation of Perry...
