Larry passed away on July 20,2024 having lived a remarkable life by any measure. He was a husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle, and true friend. Larry had an insatiable curiosity and devoted his life to learning. He found his greatest happiness and peace at a small cabin on the banks of...

Not sure what to say?

Larry was a fraternity brother (Theta Chi) at UofR and then (talk about small worlds) the father of a graduate student ( Matt) at William and Mary when I was graduate dean. As such Ann and I were able to catch up with both Nancy and Larry. We will miss them...

I have fond memories of Larry of when he went back down to kindergarten level to coach me through basic chemistry to enter nursing school. The passing of first Nancy and now Larry feels like the end of an era. My deepest condolences to his family in this difficult time.

I have wonderful memories of uncle Larry telling stories of Superski and making bread with us. He was a great teacher and all around fun person to be around. He left an amazing legacy!

I will forever remember the remarkable human that was Uncle Larry. He was a great teacher, bread baker, story teller, dancer and had an incredible laugh. I always enjoyed how he and my mom, Flo Byam, would interact. It was like they were siblings. Thank you for all the love and support, Uncle Larry.

I am saddened to hear of Larry's passing. I worked with and beside Larry in the lab at Tektronix from 1980 to 1993. He was a kind man and I remember that he was concerned with the fact that his sons were growing up quickly and he wanted to fit in as many adventures/experiences with them as he could before they "left the nest". I will remember him fondly.

We were lucky enough to know Larry through the Friends of the White Salmon River, of which Larry was one of the truest! We were fortunate to visit his cabin with him a couple of times, even meeting some of the family there. Larry was a force of nature, where "his," river was concerned, he was passionate about its protection! We know how tough it was for him to lose Nancy, and are delighted to know that he found happiness with Louise. He was a wonderful friend, and we will miss him! Our hearts...
