Dear Aunt Ida, Larry, Mick, Kevin, Sharon and families,
In our sadnes, we remember all of the special qualities of Uncle Larry; his kindness, the twinkle in his eyes, his smile and always the care and concern about how we were all doing. We know that you all will always cherish the good times and memories, laugh and cry at all of the great stories about him, and get through the tough times together. Know that we will always be here for all of you whenever you need anything. We are so proud...

Mrs Ennis & Family, My sincerest condolences for your loss. I am devastated and apologize that I was unable to attend the funeral forgive me God knows I tried. I lost the second most influential man in my life other than my Dad. The values instilled by Coach Ennis were to expect hardship, deal with it and overcome it. Be humble in victory but expect to win. Be disciplined but have an eye for the humorous traits we all exhibit. Most of all have high expectations of myself and those around...

Without a doubt, Larry Ennis lived his life to the fullest, a man who loved and was loved by so many, a man who distinguished himself as a true gentleman in every sense of the word, and a man who maintained unwavering respect for everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Words are inadequate to express what this gentle giant meant to the entire deMarrais Family. From his friendship with our dad, to the life lessons he imparted on my four brothers, how he embraced my mom following...

Winnning was certainly a Cavo tradition, however how many of you remember the tough loses? Coach Ennis often after a tough loss, would board the school bus after an away game and say thesse five words "boys hold your DOBBERS UP!"...not a word was utterred during the endless ride home on the rickety school bus helmets still strapped on, knees bent up against the bench seats... upon arrival the throngs of parents and students would always greet us with the band playing "On Emerson" applauding...

As a student, player, assistant coach, golfing partner, sometimes building partner, and son-in-law of Coach Ennis, I have wonderful memories of "The Coach" in every role. However, my greatest memories are those of him as a grandfather. As great a coach, mentor, and friend that he was, he was a superstar as "Poppy". My three children (Rook - 16, Kalette - 12, and Garrett-10) were blessed to have him in their lives. His imprint on their lives and mine will last forever.

Coach Ennis is a person I often think about, even 36 years later. I learned a great deal from him as our football and baseball coach at Emerson High School, where I attended from 1969-1973.
I have a tremendous amount of respect and admiration for him, for I believe he instilled within me many of the disciplinary qualities that have helped me throughout my life.
My thoughts and prayers are with his family. I am sure you know that he is now scouting for God.

Dear Mrs. Ennis, Larry Jr. and Family,
I have the fondest memories of Coach Larry Ennis. The older I have become, the more I have reflected on the things he taught me: “Do the right thing. Pay the price. Never quit. Don’t cheat on the goal line (or your taxes). Measure twice, cut once (from woodshop), and so many other things.” I only played football for Coach Ennis my junior and senior year at Emerson (’69 -‘70), but he treated my like a son. As a young boy I would watch the...
