Not sure what to say?

Father Larry came to St. James Parish in Potosi, Mo. for several years, while our pastor was on vacation. My husband, Leroy, was grounds keeper at St. James and he and Father Larry became good friends. Father Larry enjoyed cooking for the staff when he was here, and they enjoyed eating what he cooked. Our sympathy to all the family. He was truly "one of a kind".

Father Larry was a great friend that gave me many opportunities to broaden my horizons. I fabulously enjoyed taking him up on some of his offers: singing in the SMMagdelen choir, traveling from Berkeley to Spearfish in a motorhome, riding a horse in the Passion Play, summer job working at Holy Family and singing in HF choir. He was fun to be with and could almost always top my jokes. An amazing choir director, he got the most out of his people and kept many out of trouble at the same time....

Fr. Larry was a wonderful person and a great friend. He was very talented in music, dramatic arts, and writing. He had a great sense of humor and always had some funny jokes or stories to tell.
I first met him in 1954-55 when we were students at Black Hills College in Spearfish, South Dakota. He played the leading man in many plays at the college and in summer theater at the Old Spearfish Opera House. His roles included everything from the romantic lead in comedy to nasty villains....

My cousin Larry drew intricate monster pictures for me when I was a little girl, which would go a long way to explain the nightmares I had at that time. He had a strong sense of humor and drew cartoon characters of famous people that might remind one of National Lampoon. He was such a good musician; my Dad, his Uncle Lawrence, bought a piano when Larry came to Eugene to go to school, so he could listen to him play. Not too long ago I had that piano tuned and found a pack of Camel...

Dearest Larry, we met when we were both 37 and you were there for my entire family through all these years. You baptized all four of my grandchildren, buried my mother and married both my children. You encouraged me during my darkest hours and have been my rock and dearest friend for 41 years. My nephew Andrew texted me today and said you were probably telling jokes with my brother in heaven. It made me smile through my sorrow at losing you both. Rest in peace. Love Joan

Larry-you touched our lives in so many ways through the years that it is hard to think we will no longer have you around physically. However, every time we make clam chowder(recipe from Scot's in S.F. where we shared a meal)or do a crossword, you will be in our thoughts.
We are so glad we traveled to Riverside this spring to visit. Thanks for the memories! Peace be with you.

Uncle Larry, you were one of a kind...from the wonderful food you cooked us, the change jar in the trunk when you visited, playing the piano and Mom's organ and making us all sing with you, and our favorite "Uncle Larry Mass" in our dining room, life will just never be the same. I will miss your laugh--I hope you enjoy seeing Mom and Dad in Heaven and now can sing and laugh with the angels. Love Always, Mary

RIP my dear brother - you enhanced my life beyond belief! Thank you
