GILBERT, Larry C. – Of Lake Orion, formerly of Vernon, age 68, died Monday, August 29, 2016 at Crittenton Hospital in Rochester.
Memorial Service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint, MI.
Inurnment at Great Lakes National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to VFW Post #4005, 416 South Shiawassee Street, Corunna, MI 48817 or Great Lakes National Cemetery Advisory Committee.
Visitation 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Larry proudly served his country in the U.S. Army in the 82nd Airborne Division in the Vietnam War.
Larry will be sadly missed by his family and friends.

Larry you were such a big part of my younger years growing up. You were the deciding factor on me joining the Army. That was a major turning point in my life, so I thank you for that. I know the last years we weren't as close as we once were, but you were always my brother and I thought of myself as your little sister. I will miss you and pray you rest in peace. Love Ann Lori.
