Larry was a good man and a great flight instructor, which is to say he was a great teacher. Knowledgeable and patient, with a quiet way that made you want to know more and be an aviator, not just get your license.
Larry and his business partner Paul Dwyer
got me and many others off to a great start with their flying.
Larry was also quite a wrench and he taught me a few things in the shop too. Not too many guys like him around. He'll be missed.

So saddened by Larry's passing. He was a wonderful, calm, patient, knowledgeable man who had a profound presence in my life. He always believed in me... I will cherish the memories of flying over Santa Fe with Larry. I am so thankful that I knew him.

Larry was one of my instructors when I was trying for my Sport Pilot license a few years back. Cool as a cucumber in the cockpit - that, and he loved what he did. We've lost a good one.

Grief never ends .....but it changes. It's a passage, not a place to stay. Grief is not a sign of weakness, nor a lack of faith.... it is the price of love.

I was sorry to hear of Larry's death. The Haight and Compton kids grew up together on the same street. I didn't know that Larry liked to fly. It was also a dream of mine. Marilyn and Nancy, enjoy your time together, cherishing your memories.
