Harrison, age 56, after a courageous battle with cancer, of Elgin, highly decorated 19 year veteran Police Officer with the Cook County Sheriff's Police Dept., loving husband of Margaret ''Peggy'', nee Vonesh; adored dad of Molly and Sarah Harrison; cherished brother of Doris (Scott) Roberts, Judy Hall and the late Shelby Wilson; dearest son of the late Dorothy Highland; devoted son-in-law of Marilyn Vonesh; dear brother-in-law and uncle to many; trusted friend to all. Officer Harrison was the proud recipient of the Cook County Sheriff Meritorious Service Award in October, 2005. I Met Larry about 25 years ago during the course of my duties in Law Enforcement
To make a long story short he was a gentleman and a class act, rare to find in a job like mine.
I havent seen him in several years but learned today of his passing

I am very sorry to hear of Larry's passing. I am Lt. Grace Knapp. I lost my beloved husband, Ofr.James Knapp (CCSPD) on 04 Jan.06.
