Larry D. Jackson

At DFR Station 1 he spoke well of his family. He just loved his sons tremendously. Had a great send of humor.

Didn’t know Larry had passed away. I was assigned to Station 1C - shift. He was our driver. I don’t recall him ever cheffing for us on duty.
I do know he loved his family and he kept us content.

Can anyone possibly share what happened to Larry? Some former coworkers from the Dallas fire dept are inquiring.

What a surprise it was to see this news of Larry's passing. I didn't know him as Coach Jackson, but as Driver Jackson when we worked together at Station 1 while on the Dallas Fire Department. Sad news indeed.

My sincerest condolences to the Jackson family. May the peace of God that surpasses all understanding be with you all.

Hi my name is Jasmin, and I was a track athlete of Coach Jackson's during high school. I was so saddened to hear of his passing. I have fond memories of training and improving my skill under his patient and kind guidance. I have attached a photo of us after winning the state championship. My prayers will be with your family. As the days and weeks pass, and as you return to life's routine, may you continue to feel comforted by the love and support of family and friends.

RIP coach Jackson! I know your given those track athletes in heaven some insane workouts. Till this day, I look up to your two sons, I brag about them every chance I get. You did an outstanding job of raising them! I wish you and your family peace & comfort through these rough times. Very Blessed to have a relationship with you and your family! Thanks for all you’ve done! Take it easy coach!

Coach Jackson was not only one of the best track coaches I have ever had, but he influenced my life greatly. He coached/supported my brother and I in our track careers (even though we were the opposing team). I came up to him before/after everyone of my races and talked about strategies and how to improved. I used the knowledge he gave me about track and field to pass is down to the girls I used to coach. Coach Jackson will be truly missed.

Coach Jackson was simply the BEST!!! His devotion to help others achieve their optimal performance was not limited to only his team, a true class act!!! Outstanding role model and man!!
