Not sure what to say?

Heidi, We at the LaFortune Center Branch of NDFCU are greatly sadden by the passing of such a wonderful man, your husband. We are just so shocked, we will keep you in our prayers. If there is ANYTHING we can do please let us help you. Andy, Kim, Nancy, Dee, Brittany and Serena.

The first and only time I saw Dell after high school was on a bench in front of Wilson Memorial Hospital on my wife's last trip there in 1996. He was there because of his dad.

Nothing could have lit up the dark around that bench just then, but for just a few moments, for me, he did. As I talked for a few minutes with this good soul I had always liked and admired, who was really in the good ways no different than when we were all at the ends of our childhoods, I could breathe a...

Dell (we called him that) was an amazing friend at Lucama High School. I have very fond memories of him, especially when Dell would help me in study hall with my Algebra and Geometry homework. If it had not been for Dell's teaching me, I would have never passed those courses. He was so very patient and kind. He was such a gentle soul. I have always been so proud of his accomplishments. He loved his wife Heidi and he was so very proud of his son. A couple of months ago I got a chance to speak...

Larry was a wonderful man, and not only because he made my best friend of 30 years, Heidi Lamm, so happy. I met him through Heidi while we were all at ECU. I was taking Physics for my degree in Biochemistry and found it exceedingly hard. Larry took time out to tutor me for free. We would have coffee and he would patiently go through sample problems for me to better understand concepts. I managed to get an A in the course, which kept my overall GPA high enough to get into Princeton for my...

The on-going success of UND NSL (and in turn our own research group here at U Michigan working at UND) is due in large part to Larry's efforts over the past many years, despite his health problems. We started working regularly at UND in the 1980s and again owing to a large extent to a the wonderful assistance Larry provided, especially in training and helping three generations of UM graduate students and postdocs master operation of the UND accelerator. We will all dearly miss him .

To think he called me friend.
The world is a better place because Larry Lamm was in it.

The last time I talked to Larry was during a 15 minute break in his radiation treatments. He sounded upbeat and optimistic. I have known Larry since he took over for Ed Berners. I always looked forward to our next conversation. I will miss him greatly.

Dear Heidi and Adam,

My wife and I were quite saddened to hear of Larry's passing. He was a wonderful and courageous man, and a real joy to work with at Notre Dame. My family and I will keep you in our thoughts and prayers.

My prayers for your comfort as you remember this wonderful man. He was a good friend in the accelerator community, and I will always cherish the memory of the tour that he gave me of his facility as I passed through town.
