SPRINGFIELD, IL - Larry Wayne McAfee, 70, of Springfield, passed away at 10:40 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 30, 2015, at St. John's Hospice.
Larry was born March 18, 1945, in Springfield, the son of Norman and Imogene Smith McAfee.
Larry attended Lake Fork Grade School and Mt. Pulaski High School, and proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He worked as an autobody painter for 37 years, and retired from Springfield Welding and Autobody. He enjoyed rebuilding and restoring cars, attending car shows and gardening.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by two sisters, Linda (husband, Larry) Robbins of Sherman and Nancy (husband, Harry) Long of Springfield; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside Ceremony: 12 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 5, 2015, at Steenbergen Cemetery in Mt. Pulaski with Pastor Henry Johnson officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to: St. John's Hospital Hospice Program, 800 E. Carpenter, Springfield, IL 62769.

I still miss him. He was one of the most compassionate caring person I've known . so many times I wished I could talk to him as he always made me feel better. My condolences to his family as I'm sure you still miss him but thankful you had him in your life I know I am.

TO THE FAMILY OF LARRY PATRICIA AND I EXTEND OUR CONDOLENCES. WE GREW UP IN LAKE FORK. OUR FATHER WORKED WITH LARRYS GRANDFATHER AND UNCLE ON THERE FARM. LARRY WAS A VERY VERY GOOD FRIEND AND WENT TO SCHOOL WITH HIM.

larry was one of the nicest most forgiving loving men I have known. I feel blesses to have shared part of my life with him and he will be missed.
