Growing up across the street from the O'Brien's, I hold fond memories of playing catch with Larry and his sons. In a playful way, he would tease us all and call us "Butterfingers" whenever I or his sons dropped a catch.
Larry would come outside every Christmas and tease me about the Christmas display I was erecting in front of my parents house. His sense of humor was legendary in the neighborhood. My sympathy goes out to Libby, Cathy, Andrew and Kevin at this difficult time.

My deepest condolences to the O'Brien family which I had the privilege to be acquainted with during Expos spring training camps in both WPB & Jupiter. Larry was a dear friend during all those years and a great media mentor. Merci beaucoup Larry.

Larry O'Brien tasted life's fine wine and lived it fully. He was blessed with a great family and great friends. And he blessed us with his humor, his dignity and his total professionalism in all he did. We will miss him dearly.
He was Canada's greatest export to the USA!
